Another year is almost at the end and many think about the celebrations that are about to come; being at home with friends and families, the baking of Christmas cookies, the festive meal and unwrapping of presents. It is the time of joy and happiness. It is also the time of the year where we should think even more about the people who cannot enjoy all these things and help where we can.

It is almost a tradition: the big Christmas festivity for the people in need ‘More than one warm meal’, organized by the Hamburg organization for homeless people.  The door of the decorated Fish Auction Hall in Altona opened on the St. Nicholas’ Day for 400 people in need. The guests were welcomed at the festively set tables with cakes and cookies followed by a three course meal. More than 90 volunteers helped to serve the dishes and beverages. Amongst them were alongside many celebrities also the Hamburg MEDIMAX branch managers and regional managers. ‘For about four hours people, who are often forgotten, were able to enjoy the peaceful and reflective Christmas Season’, comments Christian Heinig from MEDIMAX in Wandsbek.

The meal was additionally accompanied by a diverse stage program. Artists like Anthony Bauer Jr. and his orchestra, Peter Sebastian and the “Hot Banditoz” catered for a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. The traditional highlight at the end of the evening were 400 hundred tightly packed bags with groceries, gloves, hats, flashlights and other very useful presents.

‘It was again a great pleasure for us from the MEDIMAX in the north to be a part of such important cause, to give the people in need a wonderful evening at Christmas’, summarizes Christian Heinig.
